Traditional birth attendants celebrate at Kinondo
Thirty traditional birth attendants celebrated their achievement for the past year, together with families and friends.
They used to be the midwives of their villages, before Kinondo Kwetu Medical center opened. Although they are not medically educated, they are now hired by the center, doing important work, bringing pregnant mothers to the clinic and accompanying them at delivery. They also work as ambassadors for health in their villages.
βOn July 22nd they were celebrating their savings that they have registered under Village Saving and Loan Association, as well as working towards safe deliveries in Kinondo over the last year.
