Secondary school starts in 9th grade. From then, school is no longer free of charge. That is one of the causes for the low success rate in Kinondo Primary School. Who wants to study hard for the final exam in 8th grade, if you know that your parents cannot afford to pay for the high school studies that the exam leads to?

Very few parents can afford to send their children to high school, at a cost of about USD 450 per year. That is why Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund sponsors school fees for some children in secondary school and also for some kids in schools for blind or deaf children.
